Honda Accord Outsells Toyota Camry in August Sales Race

The 2014 Honda Accord handily beat out the Toyota Camry in number sold for the month of August, crowning the new Accord king of sedans as consumers took advantage of summer deals.

Honda’s Accord sales were up 33 percent over August 2013. A huge increase that reflects the 2014 model’s impressive redesign, technology, and overall value. A total of more than 51,000 Accords were sold.

“Both the Accord and Camry are great cars,” said Keith Hofkamp of Sims Honda dealership in Burlington. “But with the 2014 Honda Accord, you get more technology, incredible model options to maximize what’s important in your lifestyle like gas mileage for the hybrid or performance with the coupe. People recognized that in August and we think that as word spreads we are going to share the Accord with a lot of people.”

Features like standard back up cameras and Honda’s LaneWatch technology, simply make the 2014 Honda Accord a better choice.

“While competitors rely on deep discounts and sales to corporate and rental fleets, Honda continues to achieve steady and sustainable growth based on the quality and value of our products in the hands of individual customers,” Jeff Conrad, Honda division general manager, said in a statement.
