Acura was honored by KBB.com for having the lowest cost of ownership for a luxury brand over a projected 5-year period – recognition that quality and reliability serve as a foundation of the Acura brand’s Precision Crafted Performance DNA. The ‘5-Year Cost to Own Awards’ takes into consideration depreciation, expected fuel costs, finance and insurance fees, maintenance and repair costs, and state fees for all new models.

“The Acura brand was established not only on an exhilarating driving experience but a level of quality and reliability that stands out in the luxury class,” said Jon Ikeda, vice president and general manager of Acura.

Acura was the top-rated luxury brand by KBB.com with a lineup that features five distinct models ranging from the entry-luxury ILX sedan to the 3-row MDX luxury SUV. For 2016 model year, all Acura models enjoy the available AcuraWatch™ suite of driver assistive and safety features in addition to a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score from NHTSA. Nearly 98 percent of all Acura models sold in America in 2015 were built in the U.S. using domestic and globally sourced parts. Serial production of the 2017 Acura NSX supercar is slated to begin this spring at the new Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio1.

“Acura’s ability to consistently provide exceptional value across its entire lineup of vehicles is what makes the brand stand out among its competitors, making them this year’s 5-Year Cost to Own brand winner,” said Dan Ingle, KBB.com vice president of vehicle valuations. “The Acura lineup offers low ownerships costs among each of the seven categories measured in these awards, including depreciation, fuel costs, insurance fees and more, demonstrating excellent long-term value and making it a great option for the luxury shopper.”
