Here at Apple Valley Honda, Northwest Honda, and Sims Honda dealership we want you to have a safe and enjoyable holiday season. Unfortunately, there are people who take advantage of this time of year by breaking into vehicles to get gifts that you just bought or other valuables to make extra money. We found this great little article out of New York with some fabulous tips about how to keep your belongings, your gifts, and your car safe and sound:

• “Try to park close to the store and in well-lit areas. When walking through a parking lot, keep your head up and be aware of your surroundings.

• Don’t buy more than you can carry. Ask a store employee to help you carry packages to your car.

• Shop with a friend. He or she can help carry packages and be a second pair of eyes walking to and from stores.

• Have your keys in hand when approaching your vehicle. Check the back seat and around the car before getting in.”

There were more great tips that have to do with shopping in general and not protecting your vehicle or things inside your vehicle (which means your beloved car usually must be damaged in order to get to them). Check out the entire article here and have a safe and happy holiday season from all of us at Honda!
